What this example shows

This example highlights multiple high-volume $SPY phantom prints recorded above recent price action, including two prints at $693.26 (500k each) and an additional print at $693.81 (38k), and how those levels were monitored heading into the following session.

Context at the time

On January 6th, $SPY recorded several new phantom prints as price traded near the upper end of its developing range.  Two of the most notable prints occurred at $693.26, each carrying 500k volume, positioning them as prominent upside reference levels.  The broader context included a bullish intraday trend helping to frame the potential path.

Subsequent observation

During the January 7th session, price advanced into the upper range and interacted with the high-volume phantom print zone, with the $693.26 PhantomSpot as the focal point, and including a new $693.81 print with 38k volume.  After price traded up to the levels, a rejection declined it to the day's downside target.  This example illustrates how high-volume phantom prints may act as areas to monitor over time—particularly when multiple prints form in close proximity—rather than serving as standalone signals or guaranteed outcomes.

What this example shows

This example highlights the weekly review chart of the blue lines that display $SPY phantom print levels that were hit during the week of December 22-26, 2025, as well as circles representing when they hit.  The dataset details phantom print information, including price, the price $SPY was trading at when it was recorded (spot), and volume.

Context at the time

Phantom prints recorded the prior Friday provided upside reference points heading into Monday’s session, with price advancing from the $681.55 area toward the next print at $685.47. During Monday’s after-hours session, two high-volume phantom prints appeared at $686.04 (500k) and $686.10 (491k), adding nearby upside levels to monitor.

Price resumed higher on Tuesday, moving back through those areas and interacting with the high-volume prints, my $686.56 primary weekly, and additional prints near the $688.32 ghost print. During that advance, another phantom print was recorded at $688.40 (94k), which became a reference level as a bullish 15m trend developed.

Later in the week, a notably large phantom print emerged at $690.65 (1.31M). Price advanced into the area, where it was observed as resistance and was followed by consolidation. On Friday, price extended slightly higher to interact with the $691.18 phantom print, printing an intraday high near $691.66 within the weekly doubles before transitioning into a range.
